IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS FOR FASTENING TO THE UNDERBODY OF THE VEHICLE
In order to avoid damage to the speaker due to the influence of heat, the distance to heat sources such as the rear silencer, tailpipe or middle silencer should be at least 3 cm. Installation near the catalytic converter must be avoided in any case.
FASTENING TO THE UNDERFLOOR:
To do this, at least three breakpoints must be attached using metal strips
This means that all three holders on the speaker on the threaded inserts 1-2-3 and at three points ABC must be attached to the vehicle underbody.
It is important to ensure that when screwing in the self-tapping drilling screws ABC No damage is caused to vehicle parts behind it.
SECURING THE SCREWS:
The M6x14 stainless steel screws supplied must be glued and screwed into the threaded inserts on the speaker using a serrated lock washer and screw locking adhesive.
REGULAR CONTROLL:
The speaker(s) is/are to be checked regularly to ensure that it is firmly in place. Media-CarTec GmbH assumes no liability for loose and fallen off parts and their effects.
CORRECT POSITIONING OF THE SPEAKER UNDER THE VEHICLE
Please note the exact installation position. This must be observed during assembly, so that in the event of water ingress from spray water or similar, water can drain freely and not collect in the loudspeaker housing. The loudspeaker must be installed in such a way that it does not come into contact with other vehicle parts such as the body, heat shields, exhaust system, etc.
Furthermore, the speaker must be securely fastened using the attachments supplied.
The speaker can be easily rotated horizontally.
Do not mount with the pipe opening in the direction of travel to avoid water ingress.
Do not mount with overhead tailpipe.
Do not mount with the tailpipe tilted upwards to avoid water ingress.
Do not mount below the prescribed ground clearance.
INSTALLATION GUIDE (SAMPLE)
This is only an example assembly aid and cannot be transferred to every vehicle type. The positioning of the speaker and the adjustment of the holder is therefore individual and vehicle-specific.
SEARCH POSITION
Find free space under the vehicle.
It is essential to avoid contact with surrounding vehicle parts.
ADJUST HOLDER
Metal strips must be individually adapted to the conditions under the vehicle.
The metal strips can be bent using a vice or pliers.
Drill holes (7mm) in the metal strips.
SECURE BOLTS
Apply a drop of screw locking adhesive to the threads of the thread inserts to be used.
ATTACH THE BRACKET TO THE SPEAKER
Hand-tighten the screws and serrated lock washer with holder on the loudspeaker.
SCREW THE SPEAKER TO THE UNDERBODY
Screw and tighten the loudspeaker bracket with self-tapping drilling screws at three points on the vehicle underbody.
TIGHTEN SCREWS
Tighten the screws with the serrated lock washer on the speaker using a torque wrench.
tightening torque:10Nm
CONNECT CABLE
Plug in the speaker cable.
